"As a Connector to the Central Java Region, the Palimanan-Kanci Toll Road Accelerates Travel Time."
18 Juli 2023

Cirebon (18/07), the Palimanan-Kanci Toll Road (Palikanci), managed by PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT), serves as an alternative route to reach the Central Java region besides the North Coast route (Pantura). This toll road not only acts as a connector but is also recognized for reducing travel time from West Java to Central Java.
As a simulation, the journey from Tegalkarang to Kanci via arterial roads takes about 53 minutes under normal conditions. However, if using the Palimanan-Kanci Toll Road, the travel time is only around 34 minutes, resulting in a time-saving of approximately 36%.
The Palimanan-Kanci Toll Road serves as a vital transportation artery for the North Coast route and also acts as an economic driver for the Cirebon and surrounding areas. According to traffic volume data in June 2023, around 44,770 vehicles pass through the Palikanci Toll Road daily, representing a 1.14% increase compared to the same month in the previous year when the daily traffic was 44,265 vehicles.
The Palimanan-Kanci Toll Road, stretching 26.3 kilometers from Palimanan to Kanci, has been in operation since 1998. It features 7 toll gates as entry points in the Palimanan to Kanci and surrounding areas. These toll gates are named Palimanan 3, Palimanan 4, Plumbon 1, Plumbon 2, Ciperna Barat, Ciperna Timur, and Kanci. All toll gates utilize a closed non-cash transaction system integrated with the Jakarta-Cikampek, Cikampek-Palimanan, Kanci-Pejagan, Pejagan-Pemalang, and Pemalang-Batang Toll Roads. The toll road has only one interchange, which is the Kanci Interchange.
Furthermore, the Palikanci Toll Road has 2 rest area locations for road users to take a break. The rest area at KM 207 A offers facilities such as 45 free toilets for men, 11 urinals, 33 toilets for women, 4 disabled toilets, and 63 functional toilets. It also provides parking spaces with a capacity for 800 small vehicles, including 3 disabled parking spaces and 3 special parking spaces for women (ladies parking), as well as 80 parking spaces for large vehicles. Other amenities include places of worship, a General Fuel Station (SPBU), a General Electric Vehicle Charging Station (SPKLU), as well as culinary and micro, small, and medium-sized enterprise (UMKM) outlets to ensure visitors can rest comfortably. On the other hand, the rest area at KM 208 B provides facilities such as 7 free toilets for men, 12 urinals, 14 toilets for women, 2 disabled toilets, and 4 functional toilets. It also offers parking spaces for 200 small vehicles and 80 large vehicles, places of worship, SPBU, SPKLU, as well as culinary and UMKM outlets.
PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol advises all road users to ensure their vehicles are in good condition, have sufficient electronic money balances, and refuel before starting their journey. If feeling fatigued while driving, they should take a rest at the provided rest areas. It is important to remain cautious and obey the applicable regulations on the toll road.
