Long Holiday Mobility Increases, Vehicle Traffic Towards Eastern Trans Java Rises 42% at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate
Cikampek (14/05) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded an increase in traffic volume during the 2026 Ascension of Jesus Christ long holiday period. On Wednesday, May 13, 2026, a total of 38,676 vehicles were recorded traveling towards the Eastern Trans Java region through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate. This figure increased by 42.92% compared to the normal traffic volume of 27,061 vehicles.
Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated, “The increase in traffic volume towards the Eastern Trans Java region was still observed until this morning. On Thursday, May 14, 2026, a contraflow traffic engineering scheme was temporarily implemented on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road towards Cikampek, starting from KM 55 at 08.11 WIB and later extended from KM 47 to KM 65 at 09.25 WIB. The traffic engineering scheme was implemented situationally based on the Police’s discretion and will continue to be evaluated according to traffic conditions in the field,” said Ria.
Ria added, “To support smooth transaction services, JTT also temporarily optimized service capacity at the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate by operating 17 toll booths towards Palimanan and 13 toll booths towards Jakarta. Currently, the toll booth configuration has been normalized to 15 booths towards Palimanan and 15 booths towards Jakarta respectively,” explained Ria.
Meanwhile, vehicles traveling from the Eastern Trans Java region towards Jakarta through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate reached 28,094 vehicles, an increase of 9.03% compared to the normal traffic volume of 25,768 vehicles.
Increased vehicle volume was also observed on several toll road sections managed by JTT Group in the Central Java and East Java regions.
Central Java Region
a. Kalikangkung Toll Gate
Vehicles heading towards Semarang totaled 20,408 vehicles (up 31.44% from the normal volume of 15,527 vehicles). Meanwhile, vehicles leaving Semarang reached 14,770 vehicles (up 5.01% from the normal volume of 14,065 vehicles).
b. Banyumanik Toll Gate
Traffic heading towards Solo totaled 27,828 vehicles (up 37.67% from the normal volume of 20,214 vehicles). Meanwhile, traffic towards Jakarta reached 19,689 vehicles (up 19.00% from the normal volume of 16,545 vehicles).
East Java Region
a. Warugunung Toll Gate
Vehicles heading towards Surabaya totaled 21,490 vehicles (up 12.56% from the normal volume of 19,092 vehicles), while traffic towards Jakarta reached 22,705 vehicles (up 25.47% from the normal volume of 18,096 vehicles).
b. Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate
A total of 25,310 vehicles were recorded heading towards Malang (up 19.74% from the normal volume of 21,138 vehicles), while 24,009 vehicles were heading towards Surabaya (up 0.69% from the normal volume of 23,845 vehicles).
c. Singosari Toll Gate
Vehicles heading towards Malang totaled 14,624 vehicles (up 22.84% from the normal volume of 11,905 vehicles), while traffic towards Surabaya reached 12,722 vehicles (up 20.72% from the normal volume of 10,538 vehicles).
