Labor Day Long Holiday Drives Traffic Increase, Vehicles Heading East Trans Java Rise by 30% at Cikampek Utama Toll Gate
Cikampek (01/05) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll Road (JTT) recorded an increase in traffic volume during the 2026 Labor Day long holiday period. On Thursday, April 30, 2026, a total of 36,431 vehicles were recorded traveling toward the eastern Trans Java region via the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate. This figure represents a 30.48% increase compared to normal traffic of 27,921 vehicles.
Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll Road, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated, “An increase in traffic volume has been observed since Thursday, April 30, 2026, and further growth was also recorded during the first shift today, May 1, 2026, with 16,160 vehicles passing through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate, an increase of 65.79% compared to normal traffic of 9,747 vehicles. A contraflow scheme was also implemented starting from KM 55 at 10:04 WIB and extended from KM 47 to KM 65 toward Cikampek on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road at 13:10 WIB. This traffic engineering measure was applied situationally and normalized again at 15:07 WIB,” said Ria.
Ria added, “Meanwhile, vehicles traveling from the eastern Trans Java region toward Jakarta via Cikampek Utama Toll Gate reached 27,053 vehicles, an increase of 4.15% compared to normal traffic of 25,974 vehicles,” she added.
Traffic volume increases were also observed across several toll road sections managed by the JTT Group in Central Java and East Java regions.
Central Java Region
a. Kalikangkung Toll Gate
Vehicles heading toward Semarang recorded 18,492 vehicles (up 13.25% from normal traffic of 16,329 vehicles). Meanwhile, vehicles leaving Semarang recorded 13,957 vehicles (down 5.33% from normal traffic of 14,743 vehicles).
b. Banyumanik Toll Gate
Traffic toward Solo recorded 25,722 vehicles (up 20.89% from normal traffic of 21,277 vehicles). Meanwhile, traffic toward Jakarta reached 18,159 vehicles (up 12.90% from normal traffic of 16,084 vehicles).
East Java Region
a. Warugunung Toll Gate
Vehicles heading toward Surabaya recorded 21,364 vehicles (up 11.66% from normal traffic of 19,133 vehicles), while traffic toward Jakarta reached 21,402 vehicles (up 17.46% from normal traffic of 18,221 vehicles).
b. Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate
A total of 37,418 vehicles headed toward Malang (up 75.54% from normal traffic of 21,316 vehicles), and 23,155 vehicles headed toward Surabaya (up 2.57% from normal traffic of 22,575 vehicles).
c. Singosari Toll Gate
Vehicles heading toward Malang recorded 14,505 vehicles (up 22.20% from normal traffic of 11,870 vehicles), while traffic toward Surabaya reached 11,861 vehicles (up 5.83% from normal traffic of 11,208 vehicles).
PT JTT urges all Trans Java toll road users to prioritize safety, plan their journeys properly, ensure that both vehicles and drivers are in prime condition, and confirm sufficient fuel and electronic toll card balances before traveling.
