Exceeding the Projected Return Traffic Peak on January 4, 2026, JTT Escorts 172 Thousand Vehicles Returning from the Eastern Trans Java Region
Cikampek (04/01) – The peak of return traffic during the 2026 New Year holiday on Sunday, January 4, 2026, was recorded to have exceeded the previously prepared traffic projections. In response to this condition, PT Jasamarga Transjawa Toll (JTT) was present to serve road users wholeheartedly by optimizing operational readiness across all major Trans Java corridors through intensive monitoring, traffic management, and full readiness of field personnel. During the D-day to H+3 period of the 2026 New Year holiday (January 1–4, 2026), a total of 172,486 vehicles were recorded passing from the Eastern Trans Java Region through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT), representing an increase of 41.86% compared to normal traffic of 121,593 vehicles, reflecting the high level of public trust in Trans Java services.
On the peak return traffic day of January 4, 2026, the number of vehicles passing from the Eastern Trans Java Region through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate reached 53,031 vehicles, an increase of 39.08% compared to normal traffic of 38,130 vehicles, and exceeded the traffic projections that had been prepared.
Meanwhile, vehicle movement toward the Eastern Trans Java Region during the same period was recorded at 126,253 vehicles passing toward the Eastern Trans Java Region through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate, an increase of 2.48% compared to normal traffic of 123,203 vehicles.
Traffic volumes also increased on toll road sections managed by JTT in Central Java and East Java as follows:
1.Central Java Region
a. Kalikangkung Toll Gate
The volume of vehicles leaving Semarang through Kalikangkung Toll Gate during the D-day to H+3 period of the 2026 New Year holiday was recorded at 105,692 vehicles, an increase of 69.71% compared to normal traffic of 62,277 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading toward Semarang totaled 69,780 vehicles, an increase of 0.77% compared to normal traffic of 69,249 vehicles.
b. Banyumanik Toll Gate
During the D-day to H+3 period of the 2026 New Year holiday, a total of 128,920 vehicles were recorded traveling toward Jakarta through Banyumanik Toll Gate, an increase of 60.21% compared to normal traffic of 80,470 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading toward Solo totaled 111,822 vehicles, an increase of 9.84% compared to normal traffic of 101,807 vehicles.
2.East Java Region
a. Warugunung Toll Gate
During the D-day to H+3 period of the 2026 New Year holiday, a total of 84,984 vehicles were recorded traveling toward Jakarta through Warugunung Toll Gate, an increase of 0.39% compared to normal traffic of 84,656 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading toward Surabaya through Warugunung Toll Gate totaled 91,052 vehicles, an increase of 9.28% compared to normal traffic of 83,319 vehicles.
b. Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate
During the D-day to H+3 period of the 2026 New Year holiday, a total of 132,476 vehicles were recorded traveling toward Surabaya, an increase of 21.58% compared to normal traffic of 108,961 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading toward Malang totaled 113,045 vehicles, an increase of 8.74% compared to normal traffic of 103,960 vehicles.
c. Singosari Toll Gate
During the D-day to H+3 period of the 2026 New Year holiday, a total of 71,597 vehicles were recorded traveling toward Surabaya, an increase of 23.93% compared to normal traffic of 57,770 vehicles. Meanwhile, vehicles heading toward Malang totaled 66,038 vehicles, an increase of 6.46% compared to normal traffic of 62,030 vehicles.
PT JTT urges Trans Java toll road users to prioritize safety, choose appropriate travel times, and ensure that vehicles and drivers are in prime condition. Road users are also advised to ensure sufficient power and fuel, as well as adequate electronic toll balance, and to always comply with traffic signs and directions from officers on duty for shared safety.
