Return Flow Increases, 383 Thousand Vehicles Pass Through, Traffic Engineering and Toll Discounts Implemented

Cikampek (27/03) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded a significant increase in return flow mobility for Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026 from the eastern Trans Java region towards Jakarta. During the period from D-Day to D+5 of Eid (March 21–26, 2026), a total of 383,464 vehicles were recorded heading towards Jakarta via Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT), an increase of 130.19% compared to normal traffic of 166,585 vehicles. The high traffic volume reflects strong public enthusiasm in utilizing the 30% toll discount, which also helps maintain controlled traffic distribution.

Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated, “Based on traffic data from the period H-10 to H+5 (March 11–26, 2026), a total of 559,529 vehicles from the eastern Trans Java region were recorded, an increase of 26.58% compared to normal traffic of 442,030 vehicles. Meanwhile, based on shift 1 data on March 27, 2026, 26,067 vehicles were recorded, a significant increase of 188.48% from normal traffic of 9,036 vehicles. This data indicates that the return flow from the eastern Trans Java region is still ongoing,” explained Ria.

Ria added, “To anticipate the increase in vehicle volume during the return flow period, various traffic engineering measures have been implemented, including a local one way from KM 263 of the Pejagan–Pemalang Toll Road to KM 70 of Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road starting at 10:23 WIB under Police discretion, followed by contraflow from KM 70 to KM 47 towards Jakarta. In addition, JTT has also provided travel alternatives through a 30% toll discount for continuous journeys from Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang–Semarang Toll Road to Cikampek Utama Toll Gate on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road, which remains valid until 24:00 WIB. Furthermore, a 23% discount for all transactions on the Batang–Semarang Toll Road is still valid until March 31, 2026. This policy is expected to distribute traffic more evenly while providing direct benefits to toll road users,” said Ria.

Meanwhile, for vehicles heading towards the eastern Trans Java region via Cikampek Utama Toll Gate, a total of 236,602 vehicles were recorded, an increase of 42.54% compared to normal traffic of 165,993 vehicles.

The increase in vehicle volume was also observed on several toll road sections managed by the JTT Group in Central Java and East Java regions.

Central Java Region
a. Kalikangkung Toll Gate
Vehicles leaving Semarang were recorded at 266,615 vehicles (up 194.68% from normal 90,476 vehicles). Meanwhile, vehicles heading towards Semarang were recorded at 125,618 vehicles (up 36.15% from normal 92,263 vehicles).

b. Banyumanik Toll Gate
Traffic towards Jakarta reached 280,631 vehicles (up 155.56% from normal 109,809 vehicles). Meanwhile, traffic towards Solo reached 203,172 vehicles (up 54.02% from normal 131,916 vehicles).

East Java Region
a. Warugunung Toll Gate
Vehicles towards Jakarta were recorded at 186,659 vehicles (up 68.49% from normal 110,784 vehicles), while traffic towards Surabaya reached 213,922 vehicles (up 79.91% from normal 118,905 vehicles).

b. Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate
A total of 230,118 vehicles headed towards Surabaya (up 56.43% from normal 147,106 vehicles), and 215,467 vehicles towards Malang (up 57.89% from normal 136,466 vehicles).

c. Singosari Toll Gate
Vehicles towards Surabaya were recorded at 129,087 vehicles (up 71.32% from normal 75,350 vehicles), while traffic towards Malang reached 116,351 vehicles (up 49.16% from normal 78,005 vehicles).

PT JTT urges Trans Java toll road users to prioritize safety, plan their journeys carefully, ensure both vehicle and driver are in prime condition, and ensure sufficient fuel and electronic toll balance before traveling.
