Incident Occurs at KM 40 A Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road, Officers Carry Out Swift Evacuation

Cikampek (19/03) — An incident occurred at KM 40+200 A toward Cikampek on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road on Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 08:40 WIB. Upon receiving the report, Mobile Customer Service officers immediately carried out a swift evacuation.

Senior Manager Representative Office 1 of the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road, Amri Sanusi, explained the incident based on field reports, “The incident involved a vehicle (KR) traveling from Jakarta toward Cikampek. Based on the officers’ report, the vehicle experienced an electrical short circuit which caused it to catch fire,” explained Amri.

As of now, the extinguishing process and evacuation of the vehicle at the scene are still being carried out by officers in the field. Traffic management and area security are being conducted to ensure that vehicles can continue to pass safely and in a controlled manner.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated, “JTT apologizes for the inconvenience caused by this incident. We urge all road users to always be cautious while driving, prepare their vehicles properly before traveling, and ensure that their vehicles are roadworthy. Road users are also encouraged to rest at rest areas if they feel fatigued so that their journey remains safe until they reach their destination,” said Ria.
