Anticipating Idulfitri 1447H Holiday Traffic, JTT Ensures Service Readiness on Surabaya–Gempol Toll Road

Surabaya (20/03) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) ensures operational service readiness on the Surabaya–Gempol (Surgem) Toll Road in anticipation of increased traffic volume during the Idulfitri 1447H/2026 holiday and tourism period. This toll road serves as a strategic corridor connecting the city of Surabaya with several tourist destinations in East Java such as Pasuruan, Malang, and the Mount Bromo tourism area, which are المتوقع to experience increased mobility during the Idulfitri holiday period.

Based on traffic data monitoring, JTT predicts that the peak return flow of Idulfitri 1447H/2026 at Kejapanan Toll Gate will occur on H+1 or Sunday (22/03) with an estimated traffic volume of 44,431 vehicles. Meanwhile, on Thursday (19/03), traffic volume had already reached 26,605 vehicles passing through the Surabaya–Gempol Toll Road via Kejapanan Toll Gate. This figure represents a 24.81% increase compared to the normal traffic volume of 21,316 vehicles, in line with rising public mobility ahead of the Idulfitri holiday period.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that JTT has prepared various strategic measures to ensure optimal toll road services for road users. “JTT ensures that all operational aspects on the Surabaya–Gempol Toll Road are fully prepared to serve road users during the Idulfitri holiday period. Preparations include readiness of operational personnel, traffic service fleets, and optimization of toll road infrastructure to support smooth travel for the public,” said Ria.

To support traffic flow, JTT has deployed various toll road service fleets along the Surabaya–Gempol section, including toll service vehicles, ambulances, rescue vehicles, tow trucks, Highway Patrol units (PJR), and security vehicles, all on 24-hour standby to provide rapid response in case of incidents. Traffic conditions are also intensively monitored through an integrated system consisting of 84 CCTV points and 14 Dynamic Message Sign (DMS) points controlled via the Jasamarga Traffic Information Center (JMTIC) East Region.

In addition, JTT ensures the readiness of Rest Areas (TIP) located at KM 754A and KM 753B. These rest areas are equipped with supporting facilities such as parking areas, fuel stations (SPBU), EV charging stations (SPKLU), toilets, prayer rooms, ATM facilities, minimarkets, as well as commercial and MSME areas for road users to rest during their journey.

As part of efforts to maintain infrastructure quality, JTT also carries out various toll road preservation activities to ensure optimal road conditions. These include monitoring weather conditions and potential water pooling, routine inspection of drainage systems, and prompt pothole repairs by patching teams when needed. Maintenance of toll road equipment such as signage, road markings, guardrails, as well as cleaning and vegetation trimming along the toll road is also conducted to ensure road user safety.

To support services during the Idulfitri 1447H/2026 period, JTT has also prepared integrated security posts at several strategic locations, including Rest Area KM 754A, Rest Area KM 753B, Sidoarjo 2 Toll Gate, and Kejapanan Toll Gate. These posts function as coordination centers and information points for road users during the homecoming and holiday travel period.

JTT urges all road users traveling during the Idulfitri holiday period to plan their trips carefully, ensure that both driver and vehicle are in prime condition, maintain safe distances, comply with traffic signs, and ensure sufficient electronic toll balance before entering the toll road.
