Local One Way on Semarang Toll Road Still in Effect, Traffic Observed to be Smooth and Under Control
Semarang (19/03) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) announced that as of this afternoon, the local one way traffic scheme is still being implemented on the Semarang Toll Road Sections A, B, and C under Police discretion.
The current local one way implementation runs from KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate on the Batang–Semarang Toll Road to KM 459 Salatiga on the Semarang–Solo Toll Road. This policy is implemented as an anticipatory measure to maintain smooth traffic flow during the peak of the homecoming (mudik) period.
Senior Manager Representative Office 2 of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, M. Faried Sulistamtama, stated that traffic conditions in the Semarang area remain under control. “Based on the latest field monitoring, traffic volume continues to increase, but vehicle flow remains smooth. For instance, at KM 427+000, the average vehicle speed reached 74 km/h, indicating that traffic conditions are still within the smooth category,” explained Faried.
Meanwhile, VP Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, added that the implementation of the local one way has had a positive impact on maintaining smooth travel for road users. “The local one way scheme helps distribute vehicle flow more optimally, especially across interconnected toll road sections. With this arrangement, vehicle movement is better maintained and travel time becomes more efficient. It was recorded that on Tuesday, March 18, 2026, traffic volume passing through Semarang Toll Road Sections A, B, and C reached 118,650 vehicles, an increase of 18.29% compared to the normal volume of 100,303 vehicles,” said Ria.
JTT continues to conduct regular monitoring and evaluation in coordination with the Police to ensure that traffic engineering measures are effective and aligned with field conditions. JTT urges all road users to plan their journeys properly, ensure that both vehicle and driver are in prime condition, and comply with traffic signs and officers’ directions in the field. Road users are also reminded to use rest areas wisely and take breaks when feeling fatigued to ensure safety throughout the journey.
