Ensuring Smooth Lunar New Year Holiday Travel, JTT Strengthens Service Readiness Across Trans Java Toll Roads

Cikampek (13/02) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) ensures operational service readiness in anticipation of the Lunar New Year long weekend holiday period, which is expected to increase public mobility across several sections of the Trans Java Toll Road. Strengthening operational preparedness is also part of JTT’s anticipatory measures to maintain service reliability amid rising travel trends during major holiday periods throughout the year, including ahead of the upcoming Eid homecoming season.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT JTT, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that extended holiday periods such as the Lunar New Year long weekend are generally followed by increased travel activity, whether for tourism, family visits, or intercity travel. “JTT is strengthening overall operational readiness to ensure that toll road services remain optimal throughout the Lunar New Year long weekend. This preparedness also forms part of the company’s efforts to maintain service quality amid the dynamic increase in public mobility typically seen during extended holiday periods,” said Ria.

Based on traffic monitoring and evaluation results, JTT projects an increase in vehicle volume during the Lunar New Year long weekend period. During this time, vehicle volume heading eastbound on the Trans Java Toll Road through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate is estimated to reach 324,702 vehicles, an increase of approximately 12.3% compared to normal traffic conditions of 289,085 vehicles. Increased vehicle volume is also projected across several other sections of the Trans Java Toll Road, which serve as main corridors for public travel toward Central Java and East Java.

To support smooth journeys for road users, JTT ensures transaction service readiness by optimizing all toll transaction booths and deploying additional personnel at toll gates with potential traffic congestion. JTT has also prepared operational service fleets, including Mobile Customer Service units, tow trucks, rescue vehicles, and traffic patrol units operating 24 hours a day to provide prompt assistance to road users.

In addition to operational service readiness, JTT continues to carry out ongoing road maintenance activities through routine inspections and preventive handling across several priority segments to ensure road conditions remain serviceable and safe for users.

As part of efforts to enhance public travel comfort, JTT ensures the readiness of rest area facilities along the Trans Java Toll Road network, particularly on corridors with potential traffic volume increases during the long weekend. Service enhancements at rest areas include optimizing parking facilities, restrooms, places of worship, and commercial areas. JTT also coordinates with rest area operators to ensure the availability of essential service facilities and to manage internal rest area traffic flow to maintain user comfort.

In anticipating potential traffic increases, JTT also strengthens coordination and synergy with the Police, the Ministry of Transportation, and other Toll Road Business Entities to ensure integrated operational service readiness across the Trans Java Toll Road network. This coordination forms part of continuous efforts to maintain toll road service preparedness during periods of heightened public mobility.

JTT urges road users to plan their journeys carefully, ensure their vehicles are in prime condition, and make optimal use of rest time at rest areas to maintain safety during travel. Road users are also advised to ensure sufficient electronic toll balance before entering the toll road and to comply with traffic signs and officers’ instructions in the field. “JTT is committed to delivering the best possible service to road users, particularly during periods of high mobility. We invite all road users to jointly maintain safety and order throughout their journey,” Ria concluded.
