Lunar New Year 2026 Holiday Drives Traffic Surge, JTT Records 27% Increase in Eastbound Trans Java Traffic
Cikampek (17/02) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded a significant increase in public mobility during the 2026 Lunar New Year Holiday period. During the D-4 to D-1 period (February 13–16, 2026), a total of 149,663 vehicles were recorded traveling toward the Eastern Trans Java region through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT). This volume represents a 27.81% increase compared to normal traffic of 117,102 vehicles.
VP Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that traffic volume also increased in the opposite direction. “Vehicles traveling from the Eastern Trans Java region toward Jakarta through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate reached 130,583 vehicles, or 10.86% higher than the normal traffic of 117,790 vehicles,” explained Ria.
Traffic volume also showed an increase on toll road sections managed by the JTT Group in the Central Java and East Java regions.
1.Central Java Region
a. Kalikangkung Toll Gate
During the same period, vehicles heading toward Semarang reached 84,572 vehicles (up 30.43% from the normal 64,841 vehicles). Meanwhile, vehicles leaving Semarang totaled 73,390 vehicles (up 15.96% from the normal 63,291 vehicles).
b. Banyumanik Toll Gate
Traffic heading toward Solo through Banyumanik Toll Gate recorded 124,603 vehicles (up 29.17% from the normal 96,466 vehicles). For the Jakarta-bound direction, 96,525 vehicles were recorded (up 21.32% from the normal 79,563 vehicles).
2.East Java Region
a. Warugunung Toll Gate
Vehicles heading toward Surabaya totaled 97,316 vehicles (up 16.45% from the normal 83,566 vehicles), while the Jakarta-bound direction reached 100,190 vehicles (up 28.84% from the normal 77,763 vehicles).
b. Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate
A total of 128,469 vehicles were recorded heading toward Malang (up 29.78% from the normal 98,989 vehicles), and 120,076 vehicles heading toward Surabaya (up 15.83% from the normal 103,670 vehicles).
c. Singosari Toll Gate
During D-4 to D-1 of the 2026 Lunar New Year Holiday, vehicles heading toward Malang totaled 70,639 vehicles (up 23.00% from the normal 57,430 vehicles), while the Surabaya-bound direction reached 65,509 vehicles (up 18.78% from the normal 55,153 vehicles).
PT JTT urges Trans Java toll road users to continue prioritizing safety, plan their journeys carefully, ensure that both vehicle and driver are in prime condition, and check sufficient fuel and electronic toll balance before traveling. Compliance with traffic signs and officers’ instructions in the field is essential to ensure smooth traffic flow and collective safety.
