JTT Optimizes Widening Works on the Surabaya–Gempol Toll Road to Support Smooth Mobility in Eastern Java Region
Surabaya (06/05) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) continues to optimize the widening works on the Surabaya–Gempol Toll Road, particularly on the Kejapanan–Gempol segment, as part of efforts to strengthen toll road infrastructure capacity along the strategic Trans Java corridor.
The widening works are being carried out to enhance service capacity on the toll road section, where traffic volume continues to grow, particularly as a key corridor supporting public mobility and logistics distribution from Surabaya towards Gempol, Pasuruan, Malang, and other supporting areas in East Java.
As of Week 35, the cumulative realization progress of the works has reached 81.02%. This achievement reflects the positive progress of the project while continuing to prioritize construction quality and road user safety.
Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, explained that the works are being implemented gradually and systematically to ensure traffic activities can continue operating properly.
“JTT continues to accelerate the works optimally while taking into account operational aspects in the field. All stages of the works are carried out through intensive coordination to ensure that the widening project can proceed effectively without significantly disrupting the comfort of road users,” explained Ria.
Ria added that the widening of the Surabaya–Gempol Toll Road forms part of the company’s commitment to supporting regional connectivity and growth.
“The increased road capacity on the Surabaya–Gempol Toll Road is expected to support increasingly dynamic public mobility while strengthening the smooth flow of logistics distribution in East Java. We aim to provide toll road infrastructure that delivers a better travel experience for road users, both in terms of comfort and travel time efficiency,” said Ria.
During the work period, traffic arrangements are implemented situationally according to field conditions while ensuring normal toll road operations continue. JTT has also deployed officers and work safety equipment to maintain the safety of both road users and construction workers.
JTT urges road users to anticipate their travel plans, ensure sufficient electronic money balance, comply with traffic signs, and follow the instructions of officers on site. JTT also apologizes for any inconvenience that may arise during the work period and expresses appreciation for the patience and understanding of road users in supporting the smooth execution of these works for the improvement of toll road service quality.
