D-2 of Lunar New Year 2026 Sees Surge in Eastbound Trans Java Traffic, 119 Thousand Vehicles Pass Cikampek Utama Toll Gate

Cikampek (16/02) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded an increase in public mobility during the 2026 Lunar New Year Holiday period. During the D-4 to D-2 period (February 13–15, 2026), a total of 119,532 vehicles were recorded traveling toward the Eastern Trans Java region through the Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT). This figure represents a 31.37% increase compared to normal traffic of 90,987 vehicles.

VP Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that traffic volume also increased in the opposite direction. “Vehicles traveling from the Eastern Trans Java region toward Jakarta through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate reached 95,039 vehicles, or 2.95% higher than the normal traffic of 92,312 vehicles. As the long holiday period comes to an end, JTT projects an increase in return traffic on Tuesday (17/02), estimated to reach 39,379 vehicles from the eastern Trans Java direction through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate, or up 53.75% compared to the normal traffic of 25,612 vehicles,” said Ria.

JTT has anticipated the surge through strengthened operational services, optimization of toll booths, readiness of field personnel, and intensive coordination with the Police and related agencies to ensure smooth traffic flow.

Traffic volume also showed an increase on toll road sections managed by the JTT Group in the Central Java and East Java regions.

1.Central Java Region
a. Kalikangkung Toll Gate
During the same period, vehicles heading toward Semarang reached 68,976 vehicles (up 32.49% from the normal 52,060 vehicles). Meanwhile, vehicles leaving Semarang totaled 52,838 vehicles (up 9.22% from the normal 48,376 vehicles).

b. Banyumanik Toll Gate
Traffic heading toward Solo through Banyumanik Toll Gate recorded 98,921 vehicles (up 25.52% from the normal 78,809 vehicles). For the Jakarta-bound direction, 69,980 vehicles were recorded (up 11.86% from the normal 62,561 vehicles).

2.East Java Region
a. Warugunung Toll Gate
Vehicles heading toward Surabaya totaled 72,241 vehicles (up 11.46% from the normal 64,816 vehicles), while the Jakarta-bound direction reached 76,804 vehicles (up 27.09% from the normal 60,431 vehicles).

b. Kejapanan Utama Toll Gate
A total of 98,522 vehicles were recorded heading toward Malang (up 23.84% from the normal 79,556 vehicles), and 88,476 vehicles heading toward Surabaya (up 6.88% from the normal 82,780 vehicles).

c. Singosari Toll Gate
During D-4 to D-2 of the 2026 Lunar New Year Holiday, vehicles heading toward Malang totaled 53,482 vehicles (up 14.65% from the normal 46,647 vehicles), while the Surabaya-bound direction reached 47,999 vehicles (up 8.23% from the normal 44,349 vehicles).

JTT urges all road users to plan their journeys carefully, including selecting more optimal travel times to avoid peak-hour congestion. Road users are also reminded to ensure their vehicles are roadworthy, check sufficient fuel and electronic toll balance, and maintain their physical condition to remain fit throughout the journey.
