Supporting the 2026 Low-Waste Homecoming Program, Minister of Environment Reviews Environmental Management at Rest Area KM 57A

Cikampek (14/03) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) fully supports the implementation of the 2026 Low-Waste Homecoming program through strengthening environmental management in toll road rest area zones. This commitment was demonstrated through a working visit by the Minister of Environment/Head of the Environmental Control Agency (BPLH) of the Republic of Indonesia, Hanif Faisol Nurofiq, to Rest Area KM 57A of the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road Section on Saturday (14/03).

This visit was conducted to review the readiness of environmental management and waste reduction efforts in rest areas, which serve as one of the key activity points for the public during the Idulfitri homecoming and return flow period.

Also accompanying the visit were the Director of Toll Roads at the Ministry of Public Works, Mr. Dedy Gunawan, Director of Business Development of PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk, Ari Respati, Director of Operations of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Pratomo Bimawan Putra, and Director of Toll Road Facilities Business of Jasa Marga Group, Bimo Esmunantyo.

Director of Operations of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Pratomo Bimawan Putra, stated that JTT continues to strive to integrate toll road service aspects with environmental sustainability principles, particularly in rest area facilities that serve as the main stopping points for road users. “Rest areas not only function as resting places for road users but also serve as public spaces that must be managed responsibly towards the environment. Therefore, JTT supports the Low-Waste Homecoming program through the provision of waste sorting facilities, strengthening cleanliness management, as well as education for road users and rest area tenants,” said Bima.

Rest Area KM 57A is one of the strategic rest areas on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road Section, which annually becomes a primary stopping point for the public, especially during long holiday periods and the Eid homecoming flow. With the high mobility of road users, environmental management in this area becomes an important aspect in maintaining comfort while minimizing environmental impact.

Through collaboration between the government, toll road operators, and the public, JTT hopes that the Low-Waste Homecoming program can encourage the creation of a travel culture that is more conscious of cleanliness and environmental sustainability. As the operator of the Trans Java Toll Road, JTT remains committed to delivering toll road services that are not only reliable and comfortable but also aligned with environmental sustainability principles to support safe and high-quality journeys for the public.

JTT continues to urge Trans Java toll road users to prioritize safety, plan their journeys properly, ensure that both vehicle and driver are in optimal condition, and ensure sufficient fuel and electronic money balance before traveling.
