Peak Homecoming Traffic Has Passed, Vehicle Movement Reaches 621 Thousand Toward Eastern Trans Java
Cikampek (19/03) – PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) recorded that public mobility during the Idulfitri 1447H/2026 homecoming period has reached its peak and is now gradually declining. During the H-10 to H-2 period (March 11–19, 2026), a total of 621,366 vehicles were recorded traveling eastbound through Cikampek Utama Toll Gate (GT Cikampek Utama). This traffic volume increased significantly by 145.52% compared to the normal volume of 253,080 vehicles.
Corporate Secretary & Legal of PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated, “The peak of the Idulfitri 1447H/2026 homecoming flow has passed successfully. Various traffic engineering measures were implemented in an integrated manner, including contraflow on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road, the national one way scheme from KM 70 Cikampek Utama Toll Gate to KM 414 Kalikangkung Toll Gate, as well as local one way schemes in the Semarang to Salatiga area. These measures effectively maintained smooth traffic flow toward Trans Java during the peak period,” explained Ria.
Ria added, “Moving forward, JTT is ready to anticipate the return flow by preparing traffic engineering scenarios and operational support in the field, including optimal and situational operation of toll booths and mobile readers to ensure smooth transactions and minimize queueing at toll gates. In addition, a 23% toll tariff discount for all transactions on the Batang–Semarang Toll Road remains in effect from March 12 to March 31, 2026. This policy is expected to help distribute traffic while providing direct benefits to road users,” said Ria.
Meanwhile, traffic from the eastern Trans Java region toward Jakarta via Cikampek Utama Toll Gate recorded a decrease, totaling 172,090 vehicles, down 30.30% compared to the normal traffic volume of 246,886 vehicles.
Increased traffic volumes were also observed on several toll road sections managed by JTT Group in Central Java and East Java.
