Anticipating Vehicle Congestion, Rest Area KM 57 A on Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road Implemented with Situational Open-Close Scheme

Cikampek (22/03) – In order to maintain smooth traffic flow during the Eid al-Fitr 1447H/2026 homecoming period, PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol (JTT) in coordination with the Police has implemented traffic management in the form of a situational open-close scheme for access to Rest Area KM 57 A toward Cikampek on the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road.

This arrangement is carried out as a preventive measure against potential congestion caused by vehicles entering and exiting the rest area, considering the high mobility of people traveling toward the eastern Trans Java region during the homecoming period.

Vice President Corporate Secretary & Legal PT Jasamarga Transjawa Tol, Ria Marlinda Paallo, stated that the open-close traffic management at the rest area is implemented to maintain the smooth flow of traffic on the main toll road. “The open-close arrangement for access to Rest Area KM 57 A toward Cikampek is implemented situationally under Police discretion by considering real-time traffic conditions. This is done to anticipate vehicle queues that could potentially disrupt traffic flow on the main lanes,” said Ria.

As an alternative, JTT urges road users to utilize other rest areas along the Jakarta–Cikampek Toll Road as well as the continuation of the Trans Java Toll Road to avoid concentrated congestion at a single point, such as the Cipularang–Padaleunyi Toll Road heading toward Bandung. This measure is expected to help distribute vehicle flow more evenly so that travel remains smooth and comfortable.

JTT also reminds all Trans Java toll road users to prioritize safety while driving, ensure that both the driver and the vehicle are in optimal condition, maintain a safe distance, and ensure sufficient electronic toll card balance before starting the journey.
